After 5 year of study in Jewelry Technologies and Designs, I graduated from Mersin University in 2005. I worked for a few companies in jewelry field until May 2008. Then, I decided to spend my time for special design and custom made jewelry. I mainly work on figurative forms. In hard working years, I participated several international exhibitions and have interviewed by a few reputable international magazines. Lately, I opened a gallery called “Selda Okutan Jewelry Design Studio & Gallery” in Tophane. In a very short period of time we will start jewelry classes.

For me, jewellery is not only a pieces of wearable beauty but it is also a sculptural art object. So I am very picky with designs, materials and techniques. I built my own tools to improve ability. Perfection in details is my goal. In order to fulfill this aim, I research new techniques, equipments and materials.

I like to see people being surprized. The best way to do is the details. I like the expression “the devil lies in the detail”.
