UMUT DEMIRGUC
Umut Demirgüç has a BFA degree from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Textile and Fashion Design, and an MFA degree from University of North Texas in Metalsmithing and Jewelry.
Each work she creates is unique, and she is intrigued by the juxtaposition of hard metal/soft object, hard lines/soft curves, simple forms/complex ideas; therefore, she combines materials such as silver, copper, and steel with fabric, plastic and/or enamels. She has been exhibiting her metalwork both in the USA and in Turkey also teaching jewelry design at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, and enameling at The Glass Furnace.
